Students generate and use a 3-A-Day™ of Dairy word splash to discuss the importance of getting three daily serving of milk, cheese or yogurt for healthy teeth and bones. After responding to a quick poll using physical movements, they work cooperatively to create sentences using these words and then compare them to what they learned. They relate what they learn to their own food choices by participating in physical movement activity to vote and graph their favorite milk, cheese and yogurt.
Students imitate a favorite physical activity as they move through stations to answer four questions. Their answers serve as the basis for discussing the importance of consuming at least 3-A-Day™ of Dairy and getting at least one hour of daily physical activity for strong bones. Working in cooperative groups, write a creative story using words from a 3-A-Day™ of Dairy word splash that reflects what they learned.
