Rating: Not Yet Rated
Synopis:
Compare the taste of chocolate milk when it is hot and when it is cold.
Activity Objectives:
Students will be able to:
- Taste the same food, chocolate milk, when it is hot and when it is cold.
- Describe the color, smell, temperature and taste of hot and cold chocolate milk. Identify ways the two drinks are similar and different.
Material and Advance Prep:
What to Do:
- Tell the children you have two drinks for them to taste. Show them each drink and explain that they are very similar, except we drink one cold and the other one hot.
- Have students wash their hands.
- Serve each student a taste of the Frozen Milky Shakies recipe. Then role model "trying a new food" by taking a sip in front of your students. Ask students to describe the color, smell, temperature and taste of the drink. Repeat for Warm Tummy Cocoa.
- Identify ways the two drinks are similar and different.
- Take a tasting survey and add the results to your Tasting Chart for each recipe.
- Stamp or sticker Tasting Passports once if students tasted one drink and twice if they tasted both.
- Optional: Send home a copy of the Food Matters Family Newsletter.
