M-I-L-K-O

Grade Level: Pre-Kindegarten and Kindergarten

Contributed by Cheryl Goolsby, a Kindergarten teacher at the Fayetteville Elementary School in Fayetteville, Ohio.

Sing this song, to the tune of "B-I-N-G-O," after teaching Chef Combo's® Five Dairy Cows and A Dairy Treat Day.

Advance Preparation
Write the words to M-I-L-K-O on a large flip chart for children to follow as you sing.

What To Do
1. Tell children that you have new words to the song B-I-N-G-O that remind us to get at least 3 servings of Milk Group foods every day.

2. Teach children the chorus and then the words to each verse.

Verse 1:
There is a drink that's good for us, and milk is its name -O.

Chorus:
M-I (Clap) L-K
M-I (Clap) L-K
M-I (Clap) L-K

Verse 2:
Milk helps us make other good foods like ice cream, cheese and yogurt.

Repeat Chorus

Verse 3:
We need to drink a lot of milk - 3 servings a day-O.

Repeat Chorus

"This song keeps the "Farm Theme" unit in Chef Combo's™ Fantastic Adventures in Tasting and Nutrition moo-ving right along."
-Cheryl Goolsby
